A teacher provides a conversation, chooses a voice and speaking rate for each dialogue entry, listens to the result, and creates a complete listening activity with a single click.
The generated material is a self-contained HTML file with the audio included. Once it has been created, students do not need access to the speech-synthesis service or even to the Internet.
No database.
No student accounts.
No specialised audio software.
Just a file that can be shared and played in a standard web browser.
For example:
2. Choose the voices: For each dialogue entry, select the voice and speaking rate. Listen and make changes until you are satisfied.
3. Create the listening activity: Provide a file name and click on Create: Vani Rachanakar generates a self-contained webpage containing the conversation and its audio.
The finished activity can then be saved and shared with students.
Students can first listen to the conversation and then choose Show Text when they want to see the written dialogue.
This makes it possible to use the same material for listening practice, comprehension, pronunciation and language-learning activities.
Vani Rachanakar offers a simple alternative: teachers can create their own.
A cluster resource centre prepares locally relevant conversations and shares the resulting files with other schools. The generated material is self-contained, it can be used later without requiring continuous Internet access.
A conversation about a local market, a railway station, a school event or a familiar festival can become a listening activity in a few minutes.
The listening material reflects the language, culture and context of the learners themselves!
It does not attempt to automate lesson planning or replace the teacher. The teacher decides what students should hear, who should say it, and how it should be spoken.
AI provides the speech capability; the teacher provides the educational purpose.
The aim is simple: make a powerful technology easy for a teacher to use.
